Organic Transition in Renville County, Minnesota

Renville Farm is a 160-acre grain farm purchased by AcreTrader to be transitioned to USDA certified organic production by a farming family operating outside Minneapolis. The operator, Fitzgerald Farms, has over 20 years of organic farming experience and runs a consulting business to train and mentor other farmers making the transition. AcreTrader's capital raise also included funding for water management improvements to aid in organic production. The 36-month transition process began in 2021 with a spring planting of peas.
