Florida Agriculture Overview

The famous Florida Groves have been producing citrus products for over 200 years, including oranges, grapefruits, as well as other specialty fruits. Florida is a global powerhouse in citrus production, producing more than 70% of our country’s citrus products, ranking as the number 1 producer of grapefruit in the world and the number 2 in orange juice production globally. Aside from citrus products, Florida agriculture also provides more than 60% of the sugarcane produced in the U.S. and nearly 20% of flowers grown and sold commercially. As of 2017, there were 47,590 farms in Florida, comprising 9.7 million acres of agricultural land.
