Nevada’s agricultural landscape is primarily made up of ranches and pastureland as livestock is the largest agricultural commodity in the state. However, farmers also grow a variety of crops where irrigation is available. In terms of Livestock, Cattle is the most widely produced, followed by Dairy, Sheep, and Lambs. Commonly grown crops include Alfalfa, Hay, Potatoes, Barley, Wheat, and Corn. More than 6.1 million acres of Nevada’s 70.2 million acre land area is dedicated to farmland, making up 8.7% of the total land area.
