Idaho is famous for Potato production but produces a wide variety of crops and animals across its diverse landscape. Idaho produced and sold over $7.5 billion in agricultural products in 2017, making it one of the top industries in the state. While Idaho accounts for over 24% of Potatoes sold in the U.S., this only makes up 12% of the state’s total commodity sales. Idaho is also a major producer of Cattle as well as specialty products such as food-sized trout, cheese, and alfalfa hay for which they rank top 5 in the nation.
