In 2018, our team had been investing individually in farmland for over a decade. Because of our backgrounds in agriculture, we knew about farmland’s appeal — historically strong returns with low volatility — but recognized that the high cost of entry and the burden of farm management kept farmland inaccessible to the average investor. At the same time, we saw an opportunity to provide farmers with innovative routes to capital for expansion. Using our combined experience in finance, tech, and agriculture, we created the first accessible farmland investments platform.

Charlie grew up spending as much time as possible at his family farm in Franklin County, Missouri, where he formed an interest in all things agriculture. In his current role as VP of Finance at AcreTrader, he leads the Accounting and Finance teams. Prior to AcreTrader, Charlie held various roles in Finance for Walmart, as well as served as CFO of 10x3, a not-for-profit focused on sustainable poverty reduction. Charlie holds an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, a B.S. in Finance from Saint Louis University, and is a CFA charterholder.
